Use Case: I am walking my 2022 Tesla Model 3 (Dual Motor, Long Range Battery) with Full Self Driving, like a puppy.
Cold Toronto winter morning, around 3:00 a.m., Pearson Airport parking lot.
I tried an interesting Summon use case: instead of standing still, I kept walking while the car followed me. As my position changed, the car continuously recalculated and adjusted its path to maintain distance.
Most Summon demos involve the user standing in one spot. In this case, I was moving the entire time, and the car respected parking-lot rules—avoiding cutting across parking spaces and instead navigating around them before coming to me.
You’ll notice the headlights flash once at the start (Summon ready), and an audible sound at the end when the run completes.
Camera work is rough—it was freezing—but the behavior itself was what I wanted to observe.
Curious what others think about this kind of moving-target Summon use.
